What you need to make a hearty and satisfying crockpot chili with a crunchy cube steak recipe
I have had many crockpots over the years and have always been impressed with the ease of cooking with the large griddle.
The small griddle makes the dish seem more like a traditional dish but it does work and is good enough for a family of four.
The trick is in the crock pot.
The big griddle doesn’t have a lot of room to spare, so you need a smaller crock.
This recipe for cube steak and cube chili has you covered.
The cubes are tossed in the pot with a bit of onion and garlic and the rest is tossed in with a generous helping of red bell pepper, onions and cilantro.
They are finished off with some corn and a bit more cumin.
This is a hearty crock recipe that will make a big batch of chili and tastes great with a big plate.
Ingredients 1 medium onion, chopped 1/4 cup chopped red bell peppers, chopped 2-3 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 tsp.
cumin 1/3 tsp.
chili powder 1/8 tsp.
smoked paprika 1 tsp.
onion powder 1-2 cups corn, washed, drained 1/6 cup brown rice, washed and drained 1 1/5 cups diced green chilies 1-1/2 cups cilantro, chopped 4 cups corn kernels, soaked in water for a few minutes 1-inch layer of cheese 1/16 tsp.
salt 1/32 tsp.
pepper Directions Add the onions and bell peppers to a large pot over medium-high heat.
Saute the onions for a minute or two, then add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Add the chili powder, cumin, chili powder and smoked paprikas.
Cook for about 5 minutes, then stir in the rice, corn and chilies.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add more corn kernels if desired.
Add water to the pot if needed to bring it to a boil.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
When the cubes are soft, add them to the crocks and toss well with the remaining corn.
Serve with corn chips.
This crock makes about a 4 1/ 2 quart casserole dish.
Recipe Notes If you are making this for a large group, you can leave out the green chiles and add them later in the day.
This will make more chili.
Also, if you are trying to make this as a family dinner, you may need to increase the amount of cheese in the casseroles.
